New Process for Grading Request
To streamline how student gradings are managed and tracked, a new request and completion system for examinations is now live in the ILC Members Portal.
How the New Process Works
Student Initiation & Examiner Request When a student purchases a grading fee through the portal, they will select an instructor to be their examiner.
Event Selection
Students will select the event where the examination takes place.
If the grading occurs at a publicly listed event, a drop-down list will populate for them to choose from.
Instructor Control: Instructors have full permission to edit and adjust the designated event details if needed.
Accepting or Rejecting Requests If a student requests you as their examiner, a notification will appear in your Members Portal. Please review the request and select Accept or Reject:
If Accepted: You proceed with conducting the student's examination.
If Rejected: The student is prompted to select an alternative examiner.
Submitting Results & Feedback Once the examination is complete, navigate to the portal to finalize the record:
Mark the result as Pass or Fail.
Provide feedback and technical notes to guide the student's continued practice.
Automatic Profile Updates Upon submitting a Pass result, the student’s profile automatically updates to reflect their new grading level across the entire system.
*Please note that student may also request the grading before the HQ fee is paid, however, their level will not be updated until it is settled.
New Upload Feature for Events & Gradings
Instructors, event organizers, and managers can now upload related event materials—such as photos and videos—directly on the publicly listed event page. This includes uploading media from any gradings that take place at the event for Headquarters records.
Understanding the Grading Fees
HQ Grading Fee
The HQ Grading Fee reflects the deep lineage, structure, and ongoing stewardship of the Zhong Xin Dao / I Liq Chuan system. Beyond administrative processing, this fee honors the decades of research and refinement by Founder Chin Lik Keong and Grandmaster Sam F.S. Chin, directly supporting Headquarters in preserving the integrity and global standards of the art.
The HQ Grading Fee covers:
Global Registration: Achievement recorded in the official international Zhong Xin Dao / I Liq Chuan register, connecting rank to the worldwide community.
One-Time Level Fee: Paid only once per level (no additional HQ fee if a re-test is needed for that level, including the sash exchange for Level 1 and up).
Local Instructor Examination Fee
Local instructors may charge separate fees directly for their personal guidance, time, and in-person or online evaluation during each grading session.
Thank you for your ongoing dedication to upholding our standards and supporting our students' growth!
